The first slide contains a complete 52 card deck. That’s why I whipped up this virtual deck of playing cards - ready to download and infinitely reusable for just about any classroom activity you could possibly dream up. Still, this doesn’t mean that the time away from the brick and mortar classroom should have to prevent you from presenting vibrant, fully engaged classroom activities at a distance. But with the COVID-19 pandemic and the shift to hybrid and distance learning, physical playing cards are totally out of the question (at least for now).
Whether you’re breaking students into groups, taking a quick brain break, assigning card-coded tasks, or pulling up unexpected question prompts - I’ve used playing cards in the classroom for all sorts of activities in my physical classroom. Flipping through a deck of playing cards are one of the easiest ways to randomize all sorts of items in the classroom.
